The S&P BSE Sensex started on a cautious note in trade on Friday, led by some bit of selling seen in frontline stocks such as ICICI Bank, HDFC, ONGC and L&T.
Tracking the momentum, the 50-share Nifty index also turned negative weighed down by losses in banks, capital goods, oil & gas and power stocks.
On the sectoral front, the BSE IT index was up 0.6 per cent, followed by the BSE Healthcare Index which was trading 0.57 per cent higher, the BSE FMCG Index was up 0.3 per cent and the BSE Consumer Durable Index was trading 0.6 per cent higher.
